Ode to Peach Nehi
Peach Nehi.
How I love thee.
Let me count the ways.
How you smell like a fresh fake peach. I could smell you for hours.
How you tickle my nose with your carbonation bubbles.
How you remind me of summer camp back in Florida rocking in the rocking chairs with Sarah and SarahBeth sweating like a pig.
How I could drink you all without stopping for a breath.
How you make me burp so loudly but the burp still smells good... peachy, like you.
How I found you in a gas station drink cooler somewhere in bfe Kentucky, possibly Indiana and bought all of you the store had.
How you made me ignore the fact that our truck broke down with an overheated radiator in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere for several hours and Dani had to talk with the Uhaul folks and the repair guy because I was sleeping in the cab of the truck cuddled up with the cooler inside which you were quietly chilling on ice.
Peach Nehi.
I love you.

and oatmeal cream pies! or was that just me? actually it was grape soda and cream pies for me. It reminds me of the saturday night movie during intermission. Sometimes I really miss our time at camp. Do you?
I do miss it! Except not the rubbery cheese toast breakfasts. But I do miss the singaree silliness with David & Greg and the lifeguard training with you and the canoeing. And I'm sure there's other stuff too... walking the path of silence and hanging out on the dock... *sigh*
Oh my gosh. I haven't had peach nehi since I was 12. I miss that!
It was a gas station outside of Berea, KY. Close to Richmond and my alma mater of EKU. :)
