Messy Me...

I've been busy attempting to clean up our guest bedroom (aka my sewing room) in anticipation of a few guests that will be staying here over the course of the summer. This room is so embarrassingly messy and piled high with washed, but not ironed, folded or put away fabric that I can't even bear to show you a picture. I'll just wait until it's all neat and tidy to show you what it looks like. Hopefully that will be soon! .... In the meantime, here's some lovely pictures of flowers in our garden that are bloomin' right now. Enjoy!

Hissy Kitty

One of Stinky's favorite things to do nowadays is explore the back porch. This morning Stinky & I went out only to discover that a mystery critter had been rolling around in and mashing down Stinky's catnip. There were mysterious muddy critter prints leading up to the green pot in which it was growing and a large muddy dent in the catnip itself.

Needless to say, Stinky was a bit pissed. She must have smelled it for about 30 min or so, turning to me every so often to give me a loud and long hiss of disapproval.

She's very protective of her catnip.

Out in the Garden

I've been going garden crazy!

The backyard & porch gardens have been mesmerizing me lately. I find myself wandering outside just to see what's going on. Are there new buds? What's on it's way out? How are the veggies doing?

Here's a few pics of some discoveries I made this weekend.

I captured (on film) our first butterfly visitor (a painted lady on our coreopsis).

Our Earthbox with tomatoes is growing out of control and we have two tomatoes starting to get bigger every day.

And this weekend I found our very first eensy-weensy bean starting.

It's all very exciting!

SKOOL is winding down...

It's almost the end of the school year and it's been super-crazy as usual. Kristie & I finished the Avon walk last weekend and I'm trying to get all my last minute grading done for final report cards. I also found out that I'll be (once again) moving grade levels to be a split teacher - 7th AND 8th grade science. So that means I may have the same students THREE years in a row! Yikes!

I'm also moving classrooms, so I'm having to pack up all my things - and if you know me well, you know I'm a classic "packrat" teacher with LOTS of stuff to move (you never know when you may need all those plastic bags and popsicle sticks!).

Oh, and I'm trying to find time to do fixer-upper projects at the house and work in the constantly growing garden as well as work on sewing projects I've signed up for.... Too much on my plate all at once right now! Grrr!

And since my good friend in Gainesville says it's just not a blog without a picture:
It's the backyard last fall and Kristie with Mr. Toad!
